Many Women

"We think that theater is a very powerful tool of social transformation and that at the same time allows giving voice and visibility to the women who participate. It is trying to help these women to be able to face the social problems they suffer, from the artistic field. In this way, theater becomes a tool that allows the strength of these women to be promoted and for them to perceive it as such."

Laura Settecase |Creator and person in charge of the Mucha Mujer project.
This project is recognized and supported by:Barcelona City Council, The Catalan Women's Institute ythe Council of Barcelona.
Much Woman Project | What is it?
It is a cultural project of equality and integration that works for and with women in the city of Barcelona. One of the purposes of Storage Room of the Arts through her new theatrical creation “Mucha Mujer” is to contribute to creating more equitable relationships that are free from any type of racial, economic or social discrimination, interacting with neighborhood entities, promoting networking to strengthen community ties. and provide greater visibility both locally and internationally.

For Storage Room of the Arts , theater is a fundamental tool in education and training, which allows us to build a more dignified, fair and supportive social cohesion.
Many Women works through and from cultural management to promote inclusive performing arts accessible to all people.

It is a research and artistic creation project, ddesigned especially for women who are in a process of transformation, growth, search and social inclusion.

The added value that the project achieves is to provide the opportunity and recognition to a group largely excluded in other areas of society, not only within gender equality but from social equality.

Offering participating women a free and highly qualified course in the performing arts such as interpretation and body expression, complementing the training with writing and facilitating teaching of technical aspects. An innovative combination that provides, through art, a means to improve the health and social well-being of a group in a vulnerable situation.

Furthermore, the project seeks to generate a space for more equitable relationships, free from any type of discrimination, interacting with social and cultural entities in the city.
Much Woman's Goal | What do we do?
Its objective is to train women in performing arts every year through the organization of a theater training laboratory that strengthens the autonomy of the participants, the investigation of their own protagonism, as well as their social and labor integration. All from the perspective of art as a human and social activity. The artistic training provided within the framework of the Mucha Mujer initiative aims to incorporate a language that allows women in the process of social inclusion to express themselves and find meaning in their own lives, as well as to stimulate creativity in broad terms and facilitate the search and achievement of a full life.

The participants trained during the year get involved in the creation of a new theater production and participate in different types of cultural events.

It is a cultural project of equality and integration that works for and with the women of Barcelona.

Interacting with entities from different neighborhoods of the city and promoting networking to strengthen community ties and providing greater visibility both locally and internationally.

1st Edition | There, where you keep the strength of your humanity
2nd Edition |Dragging my life
With life in their suitcase, five women prepare to travel, they look for a place, their place... It is important to know what our place is, where we are going, what is our destination? What does it mean to leave and what does it mean to stay? What matters is traveling with life at the moment we live, it is losing ourselves and finding ourselves, it is moving forward and it is dreaming, it is waiting in each season and it is also traveling. They bring in their suitcase heartbreak and the hope of being accepted, rejection and perseverance to change, suffering and the strength to fight, addictions and overcoming, violence and love.
